Learn to Draw Seals (workshop recording)

Learn how to draw seals and seal pups of different species with guidance from Tutor Bethany Y Milam.  There will be a step-by-step demonstrations, showing you how to understand the anatomy and build up sketches using simple shapes. You can take part using just pencil or any other media you like to use, such as coloured pencils, pastels or even watercolour. You might also like to work on blue or toned paper using white media.  There will be exploration of drawing techniques and lots of drawing tips along the way. This workshop is suitable for all, including beginners and the perfect way to practice your drawing skills while learning a little about these charming animals.

Materials

Reference photos. These will be on screen but you might prefer to have them printed out or viewable on a separate device.

Pencils

Drawing/cartridge paper or a sketchbook (A4 or A3 size)

Eraser

Pencil sharpener

Optional materials:

Toned or blue coloured paper (optional)

Coloured pencils (optional)

White pen or other white media (optional)

Coloured brush pens or markers/ Pastel / watercolour / other (optional)

An Apron and something to cover your table with.
