Cheeky Red Squirrel in Pastels (Recorded from a live workshop)

Create a pastel drawing of a gorgeous Red Squirrel on black paper with guidance from Tutor Bethany Y Milam.  There will be a step-by-step demonstration, showing you how to build up layers of colour and texture. Use pastel techniques such as blending, feathering and layering. Learn how to create the soft fur effects and bright eyes.

Materials

• Soft Pastels
• Pastel pencils
• Blending stumps or other tools e.g. cotton buds, make up applicators…
• Black or dark pastel paper (I use Pastelmat)
• Bristle brush
• Putty rubber
• Fixative or hairspray
• An Apron and something to cover your table with.
