Two-part Animal Drawing Workshop (4 hrs + of tuition) plus PDF of slides and references
Draw and paint a beautiful Eurasian Lynx with guidance from Tutor Bethany Y Milam. The Eurasian lynx is a secretive wild cat with distinctive black ear tufts, they are one of the widest ranging cats in the world.
In the first session of this two-part workshop, we will be focusing on drawing the anatomy and structure of a lynx and creating an outline of the lynx portrait to paint in part two.
In the second session you will learn to paint fur, build layers of colour, and capture the character of this lynx in watercolour. Follow the step-by-step demonstrations, learning drawing skills, colour mixing, watercolour techniques and plenty of tips.
Materials needed:
Pencils
Drawing paper or sketchbook
Watercolour Paper (Cold Pressed, A4) plus some paper for testing colours
Paintbrushes
Watercolour Paint
Palette
Water Pots
Paper Towels/Kitchen Paper
Spray/Misting Bottle (Optional)
Masking Fluid (Removable) and Soap/Washing up Liquid (Optional but recommended)
White gouache (as an alternative to masking fluid, Optional)
Salt (Optional)
